AI Metadata Enrichment: Fill metadata fields using what's already on the asset

AI Metadata Enrichment gives you another way in Iconik to quickly add valuable metadata to your assets. For each metadata field you want populated, you write a short prompt that says what you're looking for. For example, pulling a YouTube title from a webinar transcript or the camera position on a clip from its asset title. Once your field prompts are ready, you can select a single asset or multiple, then choose Generate Metadata with AI, and pick the fields you want to fill. Iconik reads what's already on the asset (the filename, folder path, existing tags, transcript, comments, and more) and suggests a value for each field. If the answer isn't there, the field stays empty.

By default, suggestions wait for your review, so you can accept, edit or discard each one before it saves. When you're working through a larger batch, “Accept all pending” saves every suggestion still waiting in one step. You can also choose to “Auto-accept AI-generated metadata” before starting a run to save suggestions as soon as they’re ready, with no review. Values saved from a suggestion are marked as AI-generated. The more metadata your assets carry, the more enrichment can do, because every pass adds to what the next prompt can draw on.

📍Availability: AI Metadata Enrichment is available on all Iconik plans. It draws on the same AI credits as Iconik's other AI features, shared across your account: 100 AI credits per 1,000 enrichment runs, whatever the asset type, length or number of fields. A run is counted each time an asset is enriched. See your rep for what's included in your plan. Domain Owners control AI features in the AI settings, and admins choose who can use enrichment through role groups.

Brand Portals: Increased security with Magic Links, DRM and forensic watermarking

You can now require recipients to open a portal with a magic link, so access runs through the email address you sent the portal to rather than a link anyone can forward. DRM and forensic watermarking also now work for protected assets added to a portal, so the protection you set up for shares applies to portals too.

Iconik Agent checksumming: catch duplicates before they upload

The Agent can now checksum your files before it uploads them, so you decide what happens when a file already exists in Iconik: merge it into the existing asset, or skip the upload and add a reference to the existing file in your upload collection. Local checksumming is an opt-in setting in the Agent. The checksum is also stored with the file, so when an upload happens before a storage scan, the two can be matched up as one asset.

Custom Actions: one action, several contexts, and a color of your own

• Custom Actions for several contexts at once: When you create a custom action, you can now choose more than one context for it, such as assets and collections. Iconik creates an action for each context you select, with the same settings applied to all of them, so you set it up once and it's ready everywhere you need it. Each action then appears in your custom actions list, where you can edit or remove it on its own.
• Color customization for Custom Actions icons: You can now give each Custom Action's bubble icon its own color, on the Custom Actions page and in the context menu. Color is a first step toward making custom actions easier to identify and differentiate quickly, and we'll follow it with more ways to organize them soon!

New Role Groups: Publish and Brand Portals

• Publish: Role Groups now include a Publish role block. Add it to a role group and everyone in that group has the roles they need for end-to-end Publish workflows, from publishing assets to social and digital destinations through to managing posts. It makes bringing a new publishing team on board a single step.
• Brand Portals: Role Groups now include a Brand Portals role block. Add it to a role group and everyone in that group has the roles they need to work with portals, including permission to use themes in portals. Because that includes theme permission, enabling the block also partially enables the Themes grouping. It makes bringing a new portal team on board a single step.

📍Availability:

• Brand Portals are available to all users on Pro and Enterprise. Enterprise accounts get unlimited portals, and Pro accounts include 10 portals, with additional portals available as an add-on.
• DRM and forensic watermarking on portals requires the DRM and Forensic Watermarking add-on, so contact your CSM to add it to your domain.
• Agent local checksumming is available to all Iconik users who want it, as an opt-in setting.
• Custom actions on multiple contexts, and icon colors, are available to all Iconik users.

Join synced review sessions from your iPhone or iPad

You can now join a synced review session from the Iconik iOS app and take part the same way you would on Iconik web: comment, annotate, and follow the session as it plays. The experience is built natively for iOS rather than squeezed in from the browser. Zoom and pan, flip and rotate, the laser tool, playback speed and backward play, and jumping to a specific version are all supported. 

You can also review in sync with people on the Iconik Player, who can view originals at full frame rate and in the full color space, so a reviewer checking the master on a calibrated desktop and a stakeholder on an iPhone are on the same frame at the same moment. 

We built this because review decisions don't wait for anyone to get back to a desk, and joining a session from your phone shouldn't mean sitting out half of it.

Rotate, flip, and flop assets

New transformation controls on assets let you rotate, flip, and flop the asset right in the app, so you can view it the way you need to without leaving your review. We added them because the way a video is oriented on screen shouldn't get in the way of judging it.
